Passionate about childhood development, Julie developed the Koala approach for children after more than 30 years of accompanying them professionally. She worked first as a social worker, then developed and ran an eco-friendly kindergarten focused on free movement for 15 years (Le Jardin de Julie). In addition to being mother of 4, Julie has been a home school teacher, lecturer, trainer in natural pedagogy, yoga teacher and educational advisor for the first large forest daycare service in Quebec.
During her career, she observed the crucial importance of movement for the development of children’s brains and became one of the first RMTI (Rhythmic Movement Training International) Certified Consultant in Canada. This Swedish therapeutic program is recognized worldwide and allows targetted stimulation of the brain through neurological reflexes and rhythmic movements. Performed in a gentle and playful way both in the clinic and at home with parents, this stimulation has been found to improve fine and gross motor skills, attention, concentration, behaviour, language, coordination, emotional regulation, cognitive abilities and help reduce anxiety.
The Koala Approach offers cutting-edge holistic therapy to support small and big challenges for children. Do not hesitate to contact her for more information or to make an appointment.
